A sectional door, as the name implies, is made-up from separate sections rather than a single panel. This allows for exceptionally smooth operation both manually and when electrically operated.
The sectional door mechanism has several distinct advantages over other mechanism types. Sectional doors ensure maximum drive-through width because the frame fits directly behind the door jamb and also allows for greater headroom clearance, vital for taller vehicles such as 4x4s.
WOODGRAIN EFFECT
Another important benefit is that a sectional door employs a vertical lift action, governed by rollers in vertical and horizontal tracks. This ensures that there is no intrusive arc of travel, allowing close parking to the door, both inside and outside the garage.
Hormann sectional doors provide exceptional levels of safety and security. The vertical tracks and runners employed in the opening mechanism afford excellent protection against forced opening because of the high degree of support along the full height of each edge of the door. Also, a high security locking mechanism is employed which uses a sturdy automatic latching spring disc to grip around a solid steel bolt for further protection against forced entry.
All sectional doors meet the latest British and European safety standards, providing injury protection from fingers trapped in hinges, panels and cable mechanisms. Additionally, the advanced spring technology employed on both door types prevents the door from crashing down in the unlikely event of component failure.

WICKET DOORS

The sectional overhead door in the photograph above is fitted with a wicket door. These can only be fitted to the LPU40 (fully insulated doors). This gives a personal door within the main sectional door giving easy access without having to open the main door. See brochure for more details of the wicket door.
